My name is Grace Oziohu Audu and I am a 400 level student at the University of Port Harcourt, studying Computer Science. Receiving the scholarship from WAAW Foundation was truly transformative. It relieved me of the financial burden which was a constant distraction, impacting my ability to focus on my studies. Before the scholarship, I struggled to afford tuition fees, textbooks, and even basic living expenses. Thanks to this generous support, I was able to dedicate myself fully to my education. I excelled in my coursework (moved from a 2.1 to a 1st class). The scholarship didn’t just pay for my education; it invested in my future. It has given me the opportunity to reach my full potential. Beyond the scholarship, Through WAAW Foundation’s C2S Outreaches, I’ve been able to reach out to over 200 secondary girls who are now inspired by my team members and I, fueling their dreams to pursue a STEM career. We were also able to pay for the school fees of a 10 year old girl in Junior Secondary 1, and buy writing materials for other girls just to replicate the values and impact of WAAW Foundation, thanks to Generous donations.

My name is Funmilayo Etumudon. I'm a fourth-year student at the University of Ibadan studying Forestry. I'm here to share my WAAW journey. I was awarded the WAAW scholarship around April last year and my academic journey has been smooth since then. I was relieved of the financial burden that came with academics. I was able to pay my fees on time, get the necessities for my IT program, and focus more on my studies. I joined the WAAW UI chapter, planning various outreaches to schools and orphanages. It has been a wonderful experience talking to the female students about WAAW and the opportunities in STEM and demonstrating some simple hands-on experiments to spark their interest in STEM. They always learn something new including myself. This has even helped me boost my confidence as an emerging woman in STEM. I'm really grateful to the foundation for making all these possible. I can never say enough thank you.

My name is Sisekelo Zwane, a student of University of Namibia 4th Year studying BSc Information Technology. Receiving the prestigious WAAW scholarship will always be one of the highlights of my university journey. Beyond the financial assistance that helped me cover part of my tuition and enroll in a Cisco certification, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity this scholarship has given me to give back. As a young woman in STEM, I have seen firsthand the gender gap in the field. Through our outreach programs, I’ve had the privilege of introducing high school girls to STEM, giving them exposure and confidence to consider careers in STEM. Knowing that I could play a small role in shaping their futures is an experience I’ll always cherish; one made possible by the generosity of our sponsors.
